Collaborative Book Project, Round 2

Here’s Round 2 of my collaborative book project with Joan Phillips. She’s added some really cool stuff. Here’s Round 1.
DailyDrawing- October 2, 3, 4

Daily drawings for Friday October 2, Saturday October 3, and Sunday October 4. I haven’t yet gotten into the habit of doing a drawing every day, so the weekend’s drawings are very quick and kind of stupid. That’s ok, at least I drew something at all!
DailyPhoto 03-31-09 (doodling vindicated!)

Tuesday March 31, 2009.
A doodle from a meeting. Contrary to popular belief, I’ve always felt that doodling helps me to concentrate, rather than being a sign of distraction. I was happy to hear recently that science has proven my intuitive claim correct!
Thing a Day 02-25-09 (blindfolded)

Spent most of last night shredding old journals and sketchbooks. Never got around to making my drawing for the day, so I did one today on the way home. Weird blindfold lady. I realized while shredding that I actually used to be much better at drawing than I am now. I used to draw a [...]
Thing a Day 21, 22, 23 (catching up again)

Went away for part of the weekend, and otherwise generally slacked on my drawings for Thing a Day. I did three tonight on my train ride home. I don’t like them much. I really felt unsure of myself again after I had been feeling more confident. Maybe I’ll have to make a point of continuing [...]
Thing a Day 02-18-09 and 02-19-09

I didn’t get my drawing done yesterday so I did two today on my way home from work. Posted on Thing a Day.
Thing a Day 02-13-09 (hyacinths)

Posted on Thing a Day. I’m still a day behind on this. Once I fall out of a habit, it’s hard to get back into it. I should have done a drawing last night, but ended up lying on the sofa finishing reading Team of Rivals instead. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about motivation [...]
Thing a Day 10-11-12 (catching up)

I was doing so well with drawing and posting something every night, and then I hurt my wrist and had freelance work to do and it all went to hell. I did three quick drawings on the train this morning, which includes the drawing I was supposed to do tonight, so now I’m ahead of [...]
Thing a Day 02-09-09

I don’t even know what to call this drawing. This is the first pencil drawing I’ve done for TAD and it made me remember why I don’t even use pencils to write with anymore. Smeary and gross and too much temptation to erase and start over. Which I did several times- first I drew something [...]
Thing a Day 02-08-09

Decided to get my drawing for today done early for a change, unlike yesterday’s which I snuck in right before midnight. Took a break from the weird imaginary creatures theme and drew my teacup and teapot. It was actually really nice sitting there drawing in the morning. I think I’m actually starting to like drawing [...]
Thing a Day 02-07-09 (spiral guy)

Today’s entry for Thing a Day. I’m starting to like drawing a little bit more. And I am really liking this thing-a-day project because it has forced me to draw whether I feel like it or not, because I’ll feel like a huge slacker if I don’t post something every day.
Thing a Day 02-06-09

Two Creepy Crawlies and a Bird
Another exercise in “start drawing and see what happens!” Weird…
Thing a Day- Day 3

Today’s Thing
Blah. I did this drawing on the train ride home. It’s the kind of thing I doodle all the time. I’m supposed to be pushing myself to try new things with this project. Oh well.
Thing a Day 2009- Day 1 (Dylan the Parakeet)

I almost forgot that today was the first day of February! Luckily I remembered in time, and made a drawing of my parakeet Dylan. Posted on the Thing a Day blog too. There are a lot of cool things posted already!
I learned a few things from this:
1. Hyperactive parakeets are difficult to draw! He kept [...]
