It’s been fun…sometimes difficult to actually remember to/have the energy to make something every day, but it was a good challenge and helpful to have that commitment. I realized that I don’t really dislike drawing, it’s just that I thought I dislike it because I don’t think I’m very good at it. But I think that if I just make an effort to draw more I’ll get better at it again!

Never got around to making my drawing for the day, so I did one today on the way home. Weird blindfold lady. I realized while shredding that I actually used to be much better at drawing than I am now. I used to draw a lot of things like this, except better.

I did three tonight on my train ride home. I don’t like them much. I really felt unsure of myself again after I had been feeling more confident. Maybe I’ll have to make a point of continuing to draw more frequently. It is, like anything else, something that improves with practice!

I finally got around to actually doing something with my fancypants Gocco printing machine that I bought ages ago! I think I was a little intimitated by it, and didn’t want to waste screens and bulbs on making something crappy, but I finally got over that. I printed an image of a tree (from a photo) on some old computer punch cards. I stupidly taped the two halves of the image together, so that part of the image didn’t show up on the screen since it uses the carbon in the printout to imprint the screen. But it looks kind of cool anyway. I’m probably going to end up adding some paint and drawing to these rather than just selling them as straight prints. The Gocco was actually really easy to use, and now that I’ve finally actually used the damn thing maybe I’ll start making more stuff with it!
