I love this post. You said what I feel so how about that :) I would love a job in the Department of Luminescence too (it does feel a bit Harry Potter and magical even). Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Jen - love having you there at Clover and the tent setup really looked great. I especially loved the new display cabinet for the optician's lenses - perfect! See you in a few weeks :)

I know I'm late to be passing this along, but as our pets are always in our hearts, I want to say how sorry I am about Dylan.

I love parakeets and grew up with them. I've had some taken too early, which haunts me. One drowned when I was a child and I'm still not over it.

But the worst loss was Dave. Dave lived so long. I bought him from a neighbor who bred parakeets in her garage when I was so young I was taking tap dancing lessons and riding a banana seat bike. Must have been about 12?

Anyway, the little fellow lasted all through High School, Undergraduate and into my first job. He was 16 when he died. He was a real trooper, with a love for life. He got tumors towards the end; he got them cut off and kept living.

He loved showers under the kitchen sink nozzle and trying for himself anything we ate, even thought he usually didn't like it.

There will never be another parakeet like him for me. R.I.P. Dave and Dylan

It's so difficult to find good drawings of parakeets.

Owls are everywhere, but parakeets, no. I think it's harder to capture the spirit of parakeets (or maybe their energy is the problem, like you were saying!).

Thanks for this great drawing!

When I first saw your plate in the blog roll, I loved all the harvest colors and thought it was a Thanksgiving dish, I was overjoyed to find that it was mediterranean inspired. Really beautiful plate.

Just the bread! I was skeptical but it worked really well. I want to try it with cashew cream sometime too though.

Oh, I love cream of tomato soup. What does Bryanna use for creaminess? I use cashew cream. Also, what a beautiful little box of chocolates.

Whoa - I've made pho numerous times, but never with home-made broth. I have much to learn. Awesome pics - that all looks so fantastic.

BTW - I've heard that it's pronounced "fuh". My favorite place to get pho in Alexandria Virginia was a place, named after the owner's wife, Pho Kim. I've always wondered if that was tongue-in-cheek.

Cheers!
