My enthusiasm for this daily art journal project has increased 100% since I stopped making it some sort of exercise in forcing myself to draw. For the past few days I’ve enjoyed spending a few minutes in the morning doing something creative and looking through my boxes of collage materials for interesting scraps. I’ve been saving that piece of music for a while (I love the little holes eaten by silverfish!). I tend to hoard pieces that seem unusually special or interesting, but maybe it’s better to just use them. It’s like having a nice sofa but keeping a plastic cover on it all the time and never using it. At least I have a scan of it now and  can use it in a digital collage.

At the past few craft shows I’ve sold at, I’ve had several people ask for images with maps in them, and I didn’t really have any on hand. Which is weird because I love maps, and do use them sometimes. But I think I need to make a few pieces in which maps are really the focus.
