This week’s Illustration Friday topic was “zoom” and it really stumped me. “Zoom” is all about motion, and although I never really thought about it before, my work is really pretty static. It’s more about a moment frozen in time than about something moving through time. But then I started thinking about how on an atomic level nothing is really static at all, and then I remembered seeing these really cool images somewhere from bubble chambers tracing the path of particles in motion. One of the images I used in this collage is from the first neutrino observation in a bubble chamber in 1970. Other images used include an inkĀ drawing and photos from the Bruce Munro installation “Light” at Longwood Gardens.
