(This was actually made on September 27. I have a class in the evening on Tuesdays so I prepared a few posts in advance.)
Tonight’s ingredient: Orange Blossom Water!
I bought this bottle of Orange Blossom Water a while ago after having orange blossom vanilla ice cream at Sprig and Vine. Of course I never got around to actually trying to replicate the ice cream, and the bottle got shoved to the back of the cabinet. I rediscovered it recently and decided to make chocolate mousse with it.
I used this mousse recipe- it couldn’t be easier. It’s just silken tofu, melted chocolate, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. I added a couple splashes of orange blossom water. Serve in fancy cups (it’s best if you have the patience to chill it for a little while, but it doesn’t taste bad warm either!). The chocolate and orange blossom flavors complimented each other perfectly. If I was serving this to guests I’d probably make some little twirls of candied orange peel for the top. This dessert is super rich- I could only eat half of my serving!
