Today’s post is maybe a little bit of a cop out, since I really wanted pizza for dinner and none of my secret ingredients have anything remotely to do with pizza. I had picked up several kinds of fruit that I’ve never tried before at the Asian market, and finally got around to eating them. They were: dragonfruit, persimmon, and rambutan.
The dragonfruit was so pretty with it’s pink skin and black and white interior. The texture was similar to a kiwi. Too bad I didn’t think it tasted so nice. The persimmon looked a little bit like a tomato but was much sweeter. Unfortunately I decided that the ones I have are not quite ripe yet. I could see using them in a salad. The rambutans were my favorite of the three- very similar to lychees. I liked the little spiky shells.
