Another new month, another new focus!  July is going to be all about finishing a number of mixed-media collage/paintings I’ve had sitting around for a while. I’m good at starting projects and sometimes awful at finishing them unless I have some sort of outside motivation. These paintings in progress are mostly on canvas, which means they take a back seat when it comes time to prepare for shows. They just don’t sell very well since I have to price them a lot higher than my other stuff since they’re originals not just prints. So in keeping with my recent rant about feeling that I’ve been focused too much on things to sell, I’m going to spend the month working on pieces that I know are very unlikely to sell. This is going to be interesting, because I’ve also been feeling not that interested in doing this sort of work anymore. But I’m also tired of having all these unfinished pieces lying around, taking up space and taunting me with their un-doneness.
