I recently took a one-day workshop in Precious Metal Clay (PMC) and dichroic glass at University of the Arts. PMC is basically a clay with silver particles, and when you fire it, the binder material evaporates, leaving behind 99% pure silver. It was so fun and easy to work with, and definitely something I want to explore more! I made these two pendants during the class. I love traditional metalsmithing, but it’s super time-consuming, and you have to really plan things out carefully. I liked the flexibility of the PMC, how easy it was to experiment and improvise with it- much better suited to my usual style of working.
