DailySketchbook- a new daily project!
Ok, so my attempt at doing a daily drawing project was pretty much a complete failure. I got six days into it and got bored and gave up. The idea was to re-train myself to be able to do good representational drawing again, but honestly, I’m just not that excited by representational drawing. I found it difficult to find things that I wanted to draw, and when I did draw them it felt like work and not fun.
So for the new year I’m trying something different. I’m not entirely happy with the title “DailySketchbook” since I don’t really do much “sketching,” but it’ll have to do. I was considering “ArtJournal” but it’s not really a journal either. I bought a Moleskine calendar book, with one page per day. Instead of keeping separate books for art, lists, and calendars, I’m just going to keep everything in the same book. It’s all my life and it doesn’t make much sense to compartmentalize like that. I’ll do some sort of art on every page, but I’m not limiting it to drawing. So far I’ve done a bit of collage and a bit of doodling…
