Crisis=Opportunity

I recently received some prints back from a shop I consigned them with a year ago. At some point the focus of the shop shifted away from art to other things,  and I got in touch with the new person about getting my stuff back, but the timing was bad for them and then I forgot about it for a few months. I finally got my prints back, which had apparently been in storage for some time. They probably should have been more proactive about contacting me to come get the stuff, but I share some of the blame for not following up with it sooner. So that’s ok.

Anyway, it must have been pretty humid wherever they were storing these, because each print was stuck to the glass of the frame. Pretty much unsellable. So I unframed all of them, and of course most of them tore. Ten or even five years ago I probably would have been quite annoyed/upset by all of this, but I’ve basically come to feel that most things happen for a reason and things tend to work out for the best and it’s not a worthwhile use of my energy being too negative about things. I’ve been meaning to get some extra digital collage prints to experiment with incorporating into my paper collages, so that’s what these will be used for! I love the idea of all these different kinds of work I do coming together in different ways.
