I love this art project- Air Lines. To quote from the website: “Air Lines is an art project showing worldwide airliner routes. Every single scheduled flight on any given day is reresented by a fine line from it’s point of origin to it’s port of destination. Thereby forming a net of thousands of lines. Hubs like JFK, FRA or DXB turn into dark knots where lines meet, lesser served local services are only are a subtle hint.”
I love how the lines form delicate webs in some places and dark masses in others. Poster-sized prints (46.8″ x 33.1″) on fine art paper are available for $38 plus shipping. There are three versions- the one shown here that includes the shorelines of the land masses (my favorite!), and two versions without the shorelines, one in black on white and one in white on black.
