Spring semester is very nearly over, so it’s time to tackle some of the projects I’ve had to let fall by the wayside for the past month or so. There are so many things I want to get done by June 14-15 in time for Art for the Cash Poor. One of my biggest projects is decoupaging these vases. I did three last year for Art for the Cash Poor as an experiment, and sold them all. So this year I’m doing more, starting with some colored vases (last years were all white). I know a couple of them are going to contain parts of maps, and I’ll probably do another tree one, but other than that I’m not sure yet.
Here are the decoupaged vases from last year. I also did a plate, but that didn’t sell and I ended up giving it to my mom for her birthday. I’m also thinking about doing some pencil cups or something. I love the idea of making things that are both beautiful and functional.
